Soldier's Grave

Gazetteer > England > Gloucestershire

Era

Neolithic

Description

This dilapidated round barrow is extremely overgrown, and tree covered.

Finds

Excavation in 1937 revealed rock cut boat shape. Finds include at least 28 burials, and early Bronze Age pottery.

Notes

Due to excavation damage and the amount of undergrowth, this is barely recognisable as a barrow. The winter months may be a better time to visit this site..
