Nympsfield Longbarrow

Description

This chambered Longbarrow, has been excavated and left open to the sky. The 27 meter long mound is surrounded by dry stone walling which preserves its shape.

Finds

Excavated in 1862, 1937, and 1974. Found to contain the remains of up to 30 people, some pottery, and an arrowhead. Post holes and ashes were also found. The finds are displayed at Stroud museum.

Very easy to find as is in a public picnic area
