Description

This lichen covered stone stands at over two meters tall and is formed from holed craggy local limestone. A smaller companion stone stands in the field wall a few meters away.

Notes

Legend has it that when the local church bell strikes midnight, the longstone uproots itself and dances around its field.

Access

Private land, but easy access from the nearby road.

Directions

Follow the road South East for aprox 1 mile from Minchinhampton to Avening. The stone is in a field adjacent to the road and is clearly visible through a 5 bar gate.
